This Privacy Policy explains how CORE ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the CORE mobile application and associated services (collectively, the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
By using CORE, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Name and username
- Email address
- Date of birth (used to verify age eligibility)
- Gender (optional, used for personalised analytics)
- Profile photo (optional)
Authentication Data
You may sign in using email and password, Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple, or Facebook Login. When you use a third-party sign-in method, we receive basic profile information from that provider. We do not receive or store your third-party account passwords.
Fitness & Training Data
We collect the workout and training information you log, including:
- Exercises, sets, reps, and weights
- Workout templates and training history
- Session notes and ratings
- Performance analytics and computed statistics
Nutrition Data
If you use the nutrition features, we collect:
- Meal logs and food entries
- Macro and calorie targets
- Daily nutrition summaries
Social Content
When you use social features, we collect:
- Posts, comments, and reactions you create
- Follow relationships between users
- Direct messages (if applicable)
Device & Usage Data
We automatically collect certain technical information, including:

Subscription & Purchase Data
If you purchase a CORE Premium subscription, payment is processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not store your payment card details. We receive confirmation of your subscription status via RevenueCat, our subscription management provider.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Provide core app features (workout tracking, nutrition logging, analytics, social feed)
- Personalise your experience and deliver AI coach insights
- Send push notifications relevant to your activity
- Process and manage your subscription
- Improve the App through usage analytics and crash reporting
- Respond to support requests and inquiries
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:
Service Providers
We use the following third-party services to operate the App:
- Firebase (Google) — Authentication, database storage (Firestore), and push notifications (FCM)
- RevenueCat — Subscription and in-app purchase management
- Google Analytics for Firebase — App usage analytics
- Apple & Google — Sign-in services (if used)
- Facebook — Sign-in service (if used)
These providers are required to protect your data and may only use it as directed by us.
Other Users
Information you post publicly (profile, workouts shared to the feed, social content) is visible to other CORE users according to your privacy settings. Private accounts restrict content to approved followers.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of CORE, our users, or the public.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored using Firebase (Google Cloud), which maintains industry-standard security controls. Data may be stored on servers located outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse; however, no internet-based service is completely secure.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App's services. If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required by law to retain it.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and associated data (see Delete Account)
- Opt out of non-essential communications

8. Push Notifications
We send push notifications about social activity (follows, likes, messages), workout reminders, and other in-app events. You can manage notification preferences within the App's Settings or through your device's notification settings.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page or through an in-app notification. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
